After years of not being asked for headshots because headshots are useless because my height and physique are the important factors in my castings - the number of times I was called in as an agent sent a photo of my face only to be told "Why didn't your agent tell us you were so tall?" to which the only answer I had was "Because my agent doesn't do his job properly."

So  why did I go and get headshots now? Well the answer was to find a specialty agent where ALL the talent is either very short or very tall - how tall? Well you have to be over 6'6" (198cm).

But wouldn't being listed with a bunch of other tall actors increase the competition and make it harder to get work? As a beginning talent that could be a problem, as an established actor with a certain specific niche (sometimes called a stereotype) this is not something that bothers me.

On top of that the Agency specialises in Fantasy and Science Fiction movie placements.... perfect!

Anyone who checks the Conan Stevens IMDB page will notice a few new additions recently. In fact there are four new additions to the page.

Well about time you might say, well yes, but considering I had last year off in The Philippines to fix a nasty case of metabolic syndrome (diabeties, leaky gut, severe mental fog, ineffective immune system, battling with 5 hrs a day exercise to keep lean, hypo thyroid, chronic fluoride poisoning, chronic fatige, adrenal exhaustion, magnesium deficiency, hyper calcemia, etc) not to mention the massive frustration at having eaten exactly the diet we have always been taught to eat when it turns out nearly all that information is incorrect (high carb, low fat diet).

So besides all that I have still managed to be somewhat productive while returning to health.

The German Vikingdom DVD Cover Is Conan

That is Thor, the character that I play as the entire DVD cover for the German release, and probably other European releases as well.

I'm pretty impressed, I know it's not a blockbuster movie but it is again another step onwards and upwards and it is a milestone in my career.

In other news 2014 looks like it could be a rather busy year for me, I hope so as I am very keen to work and gain more experience. Let's see how it all pans out.

Massive Conan Interview Over At TORn

TheOneRing.net has published a massive (11 typed pages) interview with me about pretty much everything Conan, well you'd expect a lot in 11 pages wouldn't you?

Yes, it's THE big Tolkien fansite - in fact it is so special within the community that the editors were invited to the set while we were filming "The Hobbit" - the only media allowed on set at all. If you are interested in the LOTR or Hobbit trilogies or are a Tolkien fan and have not yet seen the site do yourself a favour and join the discussions over there.

PS I auditioned for a comedy movie and sent the tape off via download link on a private server yesterday. I was happy with the acting I filmed, let's hope I fit what the Director  wants.

PPS The last two WOW! projects I was up for chose other directions so I won't be appearing in nor discussing them again.  Sorry about that.

Vikingdom has finished it's limited run in US theatres and is now available from Amazon to watch it over the Internet, just click the DVD cover photo above.

As you can see that's me featured heavily right there on the cover, the big RED headed god like being clutching his oversized hammer.

That's nice, there is a difference in having worked in a movie and being on the actual cover. I think, and I may be mistaken, that it adds to my acting credibility and status which is what helps drive your career forward in this very competitive career choice.

As a side note with this additional publicity from the release of this I have been firmly driven into the "Top 5000" actors on the IMDB website, another sign that I'm finally starting to do OK.

Pretty happy with both of these developments :)

Game of Thrones Audition Tape and Interview

Would you like to see the original Conan Stevens audition tape for Game of Thrones? The Audition take as Drogo.

Drogo? But didn't I play as Ser Gregor "The Mountain" Clegane - yes but Gregor was not in the pilot episode so I auditioned for Drogo knowing that I was unsuitable but hoping to get before the Casting Agents before the official casting call for Gregort went out (if the show was green lit).

You can see in the beginning of the interview I stress my size rather a lot, as I impossibly tried to live up to the massively built 8ft tall character I hoped to play.

Answers on GoT Gregor Clegane For Fan Emails

I have been receiving a fair few emails from fans of Game of Thrones regarding rumours that I might appear in GoT Season 04, in a word I have not been contacted for this so I have no idea where the rumours may have originated from.

So following on you will find an answer to an email from Jake that covered a lot of points that other emails were asking, and me being particularly lazy to write articles for this site decided to use the email as an article.

 If anyone is interested I'm writing another script - whether it is made or not it keeps my mind active and improves my abilities in this area and believe it or not there is a limit when "holiday" becomes "unemployed" and the whole difference in outlook that brings that even tropical beaches cannot change. Where I come from an unemployed person at the beach is called a "Beach Bum."

As such I have taken steps to create future employment, at least I am working on improving myself and my career, and not waiting on others to help me or give me work.

But back to the point, following you will find the email I sent Jake.....

History Channels "The Bible" has started airing and a youtube clip of David and Goliath has been released

 Vikingdom has a July 2013 release date according to IMDB

* Vikingdom finally has a trailer releasing at 9pm Malaysian time 11 March 2012, I have heard from another actor who saw it first hand that it has a unique surrealistic style to it with lots of computer graphics enhancements for all the supernatural beings and places depicted in the story. Very much looking forward to seeing this personally.
